A World Awash
Acrylic paint and marble chips on wood panel.
32-1/2 x 15-3/4 x 1-3/4 Inches

This wall relief was informed by Peter H. Schuck's proposal that nations ought to share, on a more equitable basis, the burden of protecting refugees. There were 13 million by UNHCR's estimate in mid-2014... with 3 billion predicted by 2050 – that's 1/3 of the world’s population. Particulars can be found in “Refugee Burden Sharing: A Modest Proposal, Fifteen Years Later,” in Shapira, Stern, Yakobson, and Orgad's, The Nation-State and Immigration: The Age of Population Movements, Vol. 3. (2015).
